Services

1. The assessment process starts with an initial intake. This meeting with parents and child/adolescent takes 1 to 1,5 hours at home or at school. The  intake is important to thoroughly understand your concerns, background information of your child and determine the best course of action.

2. Based on the information from the initial intake we proceed with an assessment, an intervention/therapy, or referral to another specialist (for example psychiatrist, speech-language therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist).

3. The assessment process includes 6 to 8 hours of testing for the child/adolescent, depending on the type of question.

An assessment may consist of investigating:

  • cognitive ability (e.g. IQ),
  • neuropsychological ability (e.g. executive functioning, memory, visual processing, sensorimotor skills, social perception, attention span),
  • school or academic performance (e.g. age specific reading, writing, and mathematics),
  • social and emotional performance (which include mood, behavior and social factors).

4. When your child finished the assessment it takes 3 to 4 weeks for us to finish the report and to plan a report meeting at home or at school.  We provide understandable and useful reports with practical and detailed recommendations for school and home. After the report meeting often an additional school meeting with parents and teachers/counselors is arranged to discuss how to support your child’s learning at school.
